For Immediate Release
The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Faculty Congress and College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) hosts a free public presentation on energy and environmental pollution by Dr. Shihwu Sung of the College of Agriculture, Forestry & Natural Resource Management (CAFNRM). The talk will be held on Wednesday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m. in UCB Room 100.
Waste Biomass-Based Biorefinery will focus on a new paradigm of integrated biorefineries that exploit the technologies to recover bioenergy, biofuels and other value-added products from waste biomass with naturally induced pollutant removal processes—where carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus from municipal, agricultural and industrial wastes can be converted into valuable resources. Sung will also discuss some of the findings of his research on resource recovery.
