For Immediate Release
Individuals interested in a teaching career are invited to attend an informational session on the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program hosted by the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo School of Education. The session will be held on Tuesday, November 17, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in University Classroom Building (UCB) Room 312.
The MAT Program prepares teachers who demonstrate the proper knowledge, skills and disposition to become effective educators in Hawai’i. Students apply for initial teacher licensure with the Hawai’i State Teacher Standards Board at the end of their first year and become eligible for employment. The degree is awarded at the end of the second year, after successful completion of an action research project.
