For Immediate Release

The upcoming concert of Flaco Jimenez and Max Baca, scheduled for October 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Performing Arts Center, has a program change.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Jiménez will be unable to travel to Hawaii for medical reasons,” said Jay Garza, Jiménez’s manager.

“Flaco is extremely disappointed and it is his sincere hope to visit and share his music with the beautiful people of Hawaii very soon. He is thankful his longtime right hand man and bajo sexto player, Max Baca, will bring his Grammy Award winning band, Los TexManiacs, to share their TexMex Conjunto culture with Hawaii in his place,” Garza added.

Los TexManiacs was recently featured on Austin City Limits where they performed with Dwight Yoakam and David Hidalgo of Los Lobos to induct Flaco Jiménez into The Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.

Los TexManiacs combine Tex-Mex conjunto, Texas rock, blues, and R&B riffs to create the Los TexManiacs groove. The band performed in Russia, Italy, Canada, and China in 2015.
