For Immediate Release

The Center for Global Education and Exchange at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo hosts a public talk and book signing with UH Hilo alumna Danielle Takeshita on her debut novelette, 5 Senses. The event will be held on Thursday, October 22 at 3 p.m. in the UH Hilo Student Services Building, Room W-201.

5 Senses is a story about the friendship between Jamie and Iris and their journey to find answers about Iris’ past. Takeshita said she wrote the book because it was “something she would have loved to read as a teen.”

Takeshita graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Studies and a minor in Agriculture. Her undergraduate education included participating in a study abroad program at Daito Bunka University in Japan.

For disability accommodations, contact the Center for Global Education and Exchange at 932-7488 (V) or 932-7002 (TTY) by October 12.
