“General Care of Backyard Citrus and Avocado” workshop offered

The College of Continuing Education and Community Service at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers a half-day workshop on “General Care of Backyard Citrus and Avocado” on Saturday, October 11, 9:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m., in UH Hilo’s Science and Technology Building, Room 108. There is a $30 fee.
The workshop is presented by Nick Sakovich and will cover multiple aspects of citriculture. Participants will learn how to prepare the soil, plant, prune, and fertilize both citrus and avocado trees. Basic information on diseases, insect problems and troubleshooting will also be covered.
