For Immediate Release

A University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Business Administration student from Kealakekua, Kona, has been named one of 19 winners of free textbooks for Fall 2014 from the UH Bookstore.

Aisha Izuno’s name was drawn as UH Hilo’s recipient in the 15 to Finish Bookstore Promotion for 2013-2014. The promotion was open to all first-time, degree-seeking freshmen entering any of the ten UH System campuses in Fall 2013, or the preceding summer. Eligibility was based on students having earned at least 30 credits with a minimum 2.0 overall, cumulative GPA by May 30, 2014.

Izuno entered UH Hilo in Fall 2013. At the end of Spring 2014, she had earned 31 credits, with a cumulative GPA of 3.93 and was named to the Dean’s List in her first year of college.

Each campus had at least one recipient, which was based on one award per every 500 first-time freshmen enrolled in Fall 2012. The drawing was conducted by the Institutional Research and Analysis Office using “random selection” software.

The UH Bookstore has also agreed to continue the promotion for new incoming freshmen for the 2014-2015 academic year.
