Workshop on “Criticism and Discipline Skills for Managers and Supervisors” offered

The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo is sponsoring a workshop on dealing with difficult employees on Friday, September 12, 8:30-3:30 p.m., in UH Hilo’s Campus Center 306. There is a $150 fee.
“Criticism and Discipline Skills for Managers and Supervisors” will cover:
• Approaching an employee about problem behaviors in a way that minimizes accusations, hostility, and defensiveness
• Creating an improvement plan and having employee commit to it
• Coaching the employee so there’s no chance of misunderstanding
• Documenting the process to encourage steady progress
The workshop will be conducted by Grant Chambers, an experienced professional who has completed a rigorous certification program from Fred Pryor Seminars and CareerTrack.
Employment and Training Funds (ETF) are available. The deadline to apply for ETF is Friday, August 29.
