The University of Hawai`i at Hilo Student Association (UHHSA) is currently in the midst of elections for the 2018-2019 school year. On Feb. 21, UHHSA will be holding an information session in Campus Center 301 for students curious about running or interested in learning more about the elections. The following week on Feb. 27, UHHSA will be tabling on the Library Lanai along with other CSOs, and will be providing donuts and answering questions. The elections will take place online between March 22 and 23.

UHHSA is also interested in supporting a UH Hilo app for smartphones and mobile devices. The cost for the app will be shared between different CSOs, who are working on adding features, insights, and analytics into its design. Additionally, UHHSA is still looking for suggestions regarding updates to resource rooms. UHHSA President “Boomer” Robester says that the bill for funding charging stations should pass by the end of this month.

The purpose of UHHSA here on campus is to speak for the student body and mediate communication between students and the university’s administration. This process relies on students voicing hopes, concerns, expectations, and ideas about how the university should provide our education. Stop by the UHHSA office between Ke Kalahea and the Lava Tube in CC 203-A to meet and mingle with your student government representatives.
