Student Activities Council
Event Planner
Creates small to medium sized events; plans, attends, manages, and both sets up and breaks down events with cultural, recreational, social, or educational components; attend official meetings.

Board of Student Publications
The Board of Student Publications oversees acadenic journal, art and literary magazine, and the newspaper.
Chairperson
Spokesperson for the board who hosts, schedules and creates documents for official and operational meetings.
Treasurer
Reviews and keeps track of board finances, prepares, develops and manages the annual budget.
Secretary
Transcribes and sends meeting minutes, maintains board documents and job descriptions.
Publicist
Manages and maintains board social media platforms, creates content advertising for the board and its opportunities.

Ke Kalahea
UH Hilo’s student run newspaper has the following open positions:
Associate Editor
Assists the editor-in-chief in publishing the newspaper; edits all content for the newspaper; supervises assignments with staff writers; writes editorials and stories.
Copy Editor
Edits all content for the newspaper for accuracy, which involves fact checking and verifying sources; writes editorials and news stories.
Layout Designer
Assisting the layout editor in laying out the content of the issue, experience with InDesign helpful but not required.
Staff Writer
Responsible for writing articles for the newspaper.
Graphic Designer
Responsible for designing graphics for the content of the newspaper.
Distribution Director
Responsible for distribution of the newspaper.
Webmaster
Responsible for posting all the content of the newpaper on Ke Kalahea website; managing websites.
Photographer
Takes photos for stories and creates one photo story per issue.
Social Media Manager Intern
Shadows the senior social media manager as they maintain Ke Kalahea social media in preparation for assuming the position in Fall 2022.
