Ke Kalahea
UH Hilo’s student run newspaper has the following open positions:
Associate Editor
Responsible for assisting the editor-in-chief in publishing the newspaper; edits all content for the newspaper; supervises assignments with staff writers; writes editorials and stories.
Layout Designer
Responsible for assisting the layout editor in laying out the content of the issue.
Staff Writer
Responsible for writing articles for the newspaper.
Graphic Designer
Responsible for designing graphics for the content of the newspaper.
Distribution Director
Responsible for distribution of the newspaper.
Webmaster
Responsible for posting all the content of the newspaper on the Ke Kalahea websites; managing websites.

Hohonu*
UH Hilo’s Academic Writing Journal has the following open position:
General Editor
Works one-on-one with students during the process of editing submitted academic writings; advantages in building one’s resume, being a stronger editor, and planning events such as Meet the Author events. The general editor potentially works with professional authors in organizing such events. The academic journal, along with the other publications, gives a competitive award-for-service while letting one meet friends, build community, build campus involvement, build a sense of belonging, and get some free program swag. Hohonu is a great place to build skills as an editor, meet new people, and become a vital part of the publication process. This behind-the-scenes view is important whether they’re a new student or an experienced master’s level student, says Kit Neikirk, the Hohonu editor in chief.

Kanilehua Art and Literary Magazine
UH Hilo’s art and literary publication has the following open positions:
Layout Editor
Kanilehua seeks a student proficient in graphic design (Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop) to design magazine pages and cover.The layout editor will have the opportunity to be part of the creative process and engage with a dynamic team of editors.
Literary Editor
Seeking a student with a firm grasp of grammar and story to analyze and edit literary submissions. The layout editor would work alongside a fellow literary editor to select the best written work from a pool of student submissions.

Chairperson
In training Fall 2021 - Official Spring 2022
Spokesperson for the board who hosts, schedules and creates documents for official and operational meetings.
Vice-Chairperson
Official Fall 2021 - Spring 2022
Spokesperson for the publications to the board who attends publication meetings and relays questions or important information back to the board.
Treasurer
In training Fall 2021 - Official Spring 2022
Reviews and keeps track of board finances, prepares, develops and manages the annual budget.
Secretary

Transcribes and sends meeting minutes, maintains board documents and job descriptions.
Publicist
Official Fall 2021 - Spring 2022
Manages and maintains board social media platforms, creates content advertising for the board and its opportunities.
