Summary:
This Final Environmental Impact Statement (Final EIS) has been prepared to provide the University of Hawaii (UH), State decision makers, the public, and interested parties with information regarding the potential impacts of locating the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) Project in Hawaii. The Final EIS has been prepared by the Proposing Agency, The University of Hawaii at Hilo (UH Hilo). The Final EIS discusses the natural environment, economic environment, social and community environment, and cultural and historical environment. The Final EIS presents the existing environmental conditions, analyzes the potential effects of the Project, and identifies proposed measures to minimize potential adverse impacts. Reasonable alternatives to the Project are also discussed. The State of Hawaii Governor is the Accepting Authority of this Final EIS.
