- This document gives a history of the Elepaio, (Chasiemplis sandwichensis), a small brown or gray monarch flycatcher with white markings, that is fairly common at the higher elevations and only found in the Hawaiian Archipelago on the island of Hawaii, Oahu and Kauai.
