Summary:
Mamane trees form growth rings due to the strong seasonal variability in temperature and rainfall in the subalpine zones of Maunakea. The author explored the relationship between local precipitation and the growth dynamics of Mamane tree using classical dendrochronology and radiocarbon dating. The study will benefit efforts in subalpine forest conservation and management on Maunakea.
