Summary:
The article discribed the 35 years litigation and controversials involving Palila, an endangered native bird species found only on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. The law mandates the eradication of feral sheep that degrade the palila habitat; but the hunters protest the aerial hunts used to remove the sheep. As a result, the Papila population continues to decline even with a great law and successful court decisions.
