The avian pox is a viral infection of birds that is caused by one of the larger viruses of the poxvirus group with its geographic distribution being worldwide. This article documents the temporal distributional patterns of avian pox in xeric and mesic forests, along an elevation gradient from sea level to tree line on the island of Hawaii.
