Summary:
The Hawaiian Rainband Project data on 10 August 1990 were analyzed to investigate the evolution of katabatic flow on the windward side of the Hawaii Island. The starting of katabatic flow was mainly caused by the diurnal heating cycle during the evening. Throughout the night, the katabatic flow gradually moved over the ocean.
