Summary:
Using the Pennsylvania State University-Naitonal Center (PSU-NCAR) for Atmospheric Research fifth generation Mesoscale Model (MM5), the observed mean patterns of island airflow and weather are well simulated for summer trade wind conditions. The trade wind inversion height determines the depth of the moist trade wind layer as well as the island airflow.
