Summary:
The purpose of this article is to further analyze and evaluate the earliest radiocarbon chronology in an effort to determine a date for initial settlement for the Hawaiian Islands. Doing so will provide an overview of dates with ranges that fall within the first millennium A.D., will employ the latest advances in the calibration of radiocarbon dates, and will synthetically analyze the dates and their implications for the colonization and earliest centuries of Hawaiian prehistory.
