Summary:
Since plant molds are common in the basaltic lavas of Hawaii, this study was made on the frequency of plant molds on the islands of Hawaii and Oahu. The objective was to assess the expectation of finding plant molds on Oahu given the climatic and volcanic regimes that are similar to the plant molds that are currently found on the island of Hawaii. Other objectives were to determine the frequency of the plant molds that were found, to do a comparison to this expectation with what is actually present, and to consideration for the possible reasons for the results.
