- In this document, Jaggar discusses the mechanism of the formation of pahoehoe and aa lava, all of the major Hawaiian mountains, (such as the Kohala Mountains, Hualalai, Kilauea, Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea), the correlations between the rising and falling of magma and the measurement of ground movements, the lava column and the nature of Hawaiian lava lakes, the cyclical lava changes, the volcanic history of Hawaii, the seismometric measurement of slow tilting in Hawaii, local earthquakes and tremors, and the results of this study that was done on the island of Hawaii from 1917 - 1919.
