Hawaiian goddesses Legends Poliahu
Summary:
This legend tells of the love that Poliahu had for two demigods -- Aiwohikupua, who carried the sacred birthrights of the chiefly lineage of Kauai, and Kahanaiakeakua, an attractive son of the gods Ku and Hina, who was struck by the sight of Poliahu's brilliant beauty as poised at the top of Mauna Kea. It tells of how these courtships eventually ended and how the goddess of snow and ice resumed her quiet life upon Mauna Kea.
