This article describes a single endemic plant species, known as the Sophora, of the Hawaiian Archipelago that was located on the islands of Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai by a botanist named Hillebrand who describes this species in a book that was published posthumously entitled, "Flora of the Hawaiian Islands". This article also describes variations of this genus that was known by other botanists to be on the islands of Oahu, Molokai, and Lanai.
