Summary:
This is an article reprinted from the Honolulu Star Bulletin, September 22, 1978, which stated that a suit had been filed in Circuit Court by Alan Ziegler and Mae E. Mull to prevent an agreement between the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources and Theresa Lau that could possibly endanger the habitat of the Palila. The agreement would allow Theresa Lau to graze 200 head of cattle on state land within the Kaohe Game Management Area of the Hamakua District of Hawaii Island. The cattle would endanger the ecosystem of the mamane-naio trees critical to the Palila.
