Summary

The Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant level. The IfA operates its three facilities, one on O‘ahu (on the Mānoa campus), one on Maui, and one on Hawai'i Island, collectively as a single but distributed UH-Mānoa research/teaching unit. UH Mānoa is the flagship campus of a 10-campus system, and is one of only a handful of institutions that are land-, sea-, space-, and sun-grant institutions. We deliver a multicultural global experience in a Hawaiian place of learning. The IfA has strong research groups in most areas of astrophysics and has guaranteed access to the entire suite of observational facilities on the summits of Maunakea and Haleakalā. Candidates in all subfields of Astronomy and with interests in STEM pedagogy are encouraged to apply. This position is one of three that are expected to begin in Fall 2023 and will be based on O‘ahu.
