Mookini Library's Hawaiian Collection is a special collection located on the 2nd floor (Main Level) of the library, near the main computer lab.
- The Hawaiian Collection is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. After hours, patrons may request books at the Circulation Desk.
- Borrowing periods for Hawaiian Collection materials range from one to two weeks. Other books in the collection are Library Use Only.
Exhibits on display in the collection feature Hawaiʻi’s culture, people and history, including student work.
How to Request Materials from the Hawaiian Collection Vault
Selected rare materials and special collections are housed in the Hawaiian Collection Vault. These materials are for library use only in the Hawaiian Collection, and photocopying is at the discretion of the staff. A current UH or other valid picture ID must be presented and left with the staff while the materials are in use. Please note that access to Vault materials might not be available during all the hours the Hawaiian Collection is open.
