Diane Barrett, Professor of Education

Professor Barrett researches math education and helps design high school math curriculum for the state of Hawai‘i. Her research focuses mainly on math education, including inquiry in the math and science classroom, pedagogical content knowledge, assessment, and the impact of teacher collaboration on student learning.

An expert in tropical forest climate, hydrology, ecology, paleo-ecology, wildlife conservation, and ecological studies, Professor Juvik’s most important contribution to the climatological field is development of the “Juvik Fog Gauge,” now used worldwide to provide standardized fog measurements. He’s also an international expert on tortoises.
