Aloha and Welcome to UH Hilo!

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, founded in 1947, provides opportunities for higher education on the island of Hawaiʻi and is part of the ten-campus University of Hawaiʻi system.

UH Hilo’s signal strengths are its small classes, low student/faculty ratio, diverse student body, island “learning laboratory,” a faculty active in research who encourage student participation in their investigations, service to the community, and, perhaps most importantly, the “aloha spirit” that epitomizes UH Hilo’s multicultural, student-centered approach.

Once you have been accepted into UH Hilo whether it's via our annual placement in March or during the year, our Hilo NSE coordinator will reach out with 'next steps' on what to do. We want to make sure your transition to the Big island is a smooth one and we highly recommend checking your email periodically.
