Associate Professor in Nursing at UH Hilo from 1990 to present, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Taught at Hawaiʻi Community College from 1987-1990, UH Mānoa from 1981 - 1987, including Hilo High School in summer 1998 and Kapiʻolani Community College in summer 1985. Have taught wide range of students, from high-school to graduate school, including continuing education non-credit courses and a home health aide course.
Have been a practicing Registered Nurse since 1973 and a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1976. Currently affiliated with Dr. Kevin Kurohara in Hilo. Previously, worked as a nurse practitioner with the Veteran's Administration in Hilo, Kaiser Permanente in Honolulu and Fair Haven Community Health Clinic in Connecticut. Have been a staff nurse at Halifax Regional Hospital in Nova Scotia, Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, Waterbury Visiting Nurse's Association in Connecticut and St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu.
