Francisco “Francis” Perlas Dumanig, associate professor of English at the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo, received the 2023 Filipino American Heritage Month Community Recognition Award, organized by the community-based Filipino American History Month committee. Recognized by the Hawai‘i County Council and the Hawai‘i State Legislature, Dumanig was presented the award at UH Hilo’s Barrio Fiesta held in October at the Campus Center Plaza.
