Public Outreach

Public Outreach is one of the most important programs of CSAV, and it's also one of the most enjoyable. We teach the public about volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, and flash floods.

My job includes assisting with pubic seminars, teacher training workshops, and school visits (my favorite school groups are 6th graders.) We also set up booths at many events, such as Onizuka Day, High School Career Day, and Open House. UH Hilo students often volunteer to help out, where they gain valuable experience working with the public.
