Students Traveling (Back) to Hilo for Fall

Updated 17 July, with quarantine FAQ link.

Effective June 16, Governor Ige has lifted the quarantine requirements for inter-island travelers. Students traveling to Hilo from one of the other Hawaiian islands will no longer be required to self isolate.

At this time, quarantine requirements remain in effect for travelers from domestic and international locations until September 1.

UH Hilo is in communication with state leaders and will provide updates about quarantine requirements as soon as there is new information to share. In the meantime, we are working on contingency plans to provide quarantine spaces for students if it remains necessary.

We also have Frequently Asked Questions about quarantine information available to address quarantine concerns.
