Students Returning to Hilo from Off-Island

Updated 7 April, 10am, changing out-of-state to off-island.

As many of our students will be flying back to Hawaiʻi Island, please be aware of the recent guidelines that all travelers coming to Hawaiʻi will be required to self isolate for a 14-day period.

If you are currently away and are able to stay where you are, we encourage you to extend your trip and/or stay at home to avoid a mandated quarantine. If Hawaiʻi is home, we encourage you to self isolate at home.

If you are returning from off-island, please submit a response to the UH Hilo Student Travel Survey Form.

Emergency Grading Policy

Added 9 April, 10am.

In response to the exceptional circumstances of the spring 2020 semester, the University of Hawaiʻi has worked together as a system to develop a Credit/No Credit option for students for this semester only.

  • The deadline to withdraw from a class with a W has been extended to April 30. I hope you will stay in your courses, but if it is just not going to work for you, we want to give you that option.
  • Registration for summer and fall will begin on schedule on April 6. If you wish to discuss your schedule with an advisor, please contact them via email or through the office email. You can find your advisor in STAR-GPS.

Summer Session

Summer classes will primarily be offered online. If circumstances change and we can offer some courses face to face, we will add them to the schedule, but for now, assume that all summer classes will be online.
