UH Hilo nursing students to be featured in documentary film on education system

Theresa-Regina Rivera and Mark Jones will be featured in the upcoming film ‘Ike, Knowledge is Everywhere, a documentary about the education system in Hawai‘i. The film will have its premier at the Hawai‘i International Film Festival in November.

Two UH Hilo alumni selected for 8-month Mars simulation

Sophie Milam and Neil Scheibelhut have been selected to join the crew of the next Hawai‘i Space Exploration Analog and Simulation (HI-SEAS) mission. Starting October 15, the team of six crew members will be isolated in their dome habitat on Mauna Loa for eight months.

Geographer creates infographics on Puna lava flow

Mark Kimura, a researcher at UH Hilo who specializes in economic geography, is generating dozens of easy-to-read infographics showing the effects of the lava flow in Puna.
