Discovery Channel films UH Hilo researchers mapping lava flow in Puna

The Discovery Chanel’s video includes an excellent explanation of how the lava mapping is done from the UAV flights in the field to the data analysis and mosaic creation done at the UH Hilo Spatial Data Analysis and Visualization Laboratory.

UH Hilo to benefit from energy reduction project

UH Hilo publishes online report on emerging disease in native birds

The report is on an emerging infectious disease, knemidokoptic mange, commonly called “scaly leg,” that threatens population recovery of a Hawaiian honeycreeper. The study is now available to the public.

UH students on track to graduate on time and enter workforce sooner

More than 55 percent of first-time freshmen entering UH Mānoa, UH Hilo and UH West Oʻahu enrolled in 15 or more credits in the fall 2014 semester, a result of the system-wide “15 to Finish” initiative.
