Enforcement of the COVID-19 vaccination requirement to attend in-person classes will take place only after a vaccine is fully approved by the FDA. However, the vaccine requirement will be enforced this fall for students who live in on-campus housing at UH Mānoa and UH Hilo because of the close communal contact.
The UH System announced that the COVID-19 vaccination is now added to the student health clearance requirements beginning for the fall 2021 semester.

On Hawai‘i Island, 48 UH Hilo student pharmacists have been helping at vaccination sites in Hilo. Students also have been assisting on O‘ahu at vaccination events held at Leeward Community College and UH Mānoa.
