The English department at UH Hilo held virtual ceremonies May 12 for its spring 2020 awards and scholarships recipients.
UH Hilo’s Hawaiian language college awarded 59 degrees this semester, including two doctor of philosophy and 57 others.
The student-atheletes may not be walking across a stage this year with families, friends, coaches, teammates and fans in attendance. But they will still receive their diplomas, along with their athlete sash. Some will come back to play one more year.
The ceremonies will be held on Zoom and also be livestreamed on the program’s YouTube channel and recorded for those who cannot attend.
