In transitioning her health courses to online platforms, Misty Pacheco made the decision to incorporate the pandemic into her teaching. “My students got a lot more out of the public health and health promotion course because we were living through what we were learning.”
The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo will hold a virtual fall 2020 commencement ceremony due to ongoing health concerns with COVID-19.
“I treat the students like family and each time they make progress, I feel like a proud parent,” says biologist Li Tao about the transition to online teaching.
