With two kids, a husband and a full time job, Kristle Akau Giraudy made a plan. At UH Hilo’s commencement on Saturday, the dream comes true: a doctor of nursing practice degree.

UH Hilo’s bioacoustics lab was the perfect fit for Amanda Navine in graduate school. She worked and conducted research there, and following graduation moved seamlessly into her career as the lab’s acoustic bioinformatics specialist.
