Ma joined the college in 2007 as the clinical education coordinator, and in 2009 became chair for pharmacy practice.

UH Hilo, Hawai‘i CC will remain open Friday, Oct. 17, Saturday, Oct. 18, and Sunday, Oct. 19 with the exception of the Hawai‘i Community College Motorcycle Training class on Saturday, which is cancelled. Classes and activities at the UH West Hawaiʻi Campus are cancelled for Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18 and the campus will be closed.
