The colorful work depicting fruits and other produce of Hawai‘i Island is designed by local artist Kristie Fujiyama Kosmides.
After being set back due to covid restrictions, a recorded version of the annual show, entitled “Dance Collective: Pandemic Edition,” premiered March 26-28, 2021. The show included works of eleven choreographers presenting ten pieces.
Focusing on sustainability goals set by the United Nations, the online summer session will address concerns all nations are confronting such as climate change, cyclical poverty, and food insecurity, with special attention to challenges found in Hawaiʻi.

Over the years, Vulcan student-athletes have read to more than 10,000 keiki in-person, and now they can add virtual readings to that total.
