The soprano says the recital—classics and Broadway favorites—is a stepping stone to her goal of pursuing a master degree in vocal performance in 2017.

Awong earned a BA in anthropology with a minor in Hawaiian studies from UH Hilo, and went on to earn her master’s at UH Mānoa. She began her career in the national park as a fee collector in 1999.
The author is excited about returning to her alma mater to share her new book, 5 Senses. She describes her talk and book signing as “coming full circle.”
