July 13, 2020 Update. Countdown to Fall 2020: 43 days remaining until fall semester begins.
Even with arrival of the coronavirus disruption and the development of a “new normal,” the university had an immensely successful 2019-2020 academic year, filled with accomplishments, accolades, milestones, and celebrations.
Throughout the 14 days, Irwin carried on with campus business via telemeetings and other digital communication, which will continue as long as the state’s stay-at-home order is in place and the UH System is practicing social distancing.
The newly established working group is identifying additional resources and best practices on how to teach students remotely during the COVID-19 health crisis.
“We must balance the need to carry on our mission of delivering quality education and pursuing research activities without disruption, while safeguarding the health and wellbeing of faculty, staff and students.” -University of Hawaii Professional Assembly
New faculty and staff were welcomed to the UH Hilo campus at the 2020 Spring Welcome event, Jan. 30.
