The event featured both red and white poinsettias grown by UH Hilo ag students at the university’s Agricultural Farm Laboratory in Panaʻewa.
The students visited Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area (fun!), Waikoloa Plaza (food and shopping), Hapuna Beach Park (more fun!), and Puʻukoholā Heiau and Visitor Center (to learn some Hawaiʻi Island history).
ʻO ʻIkuwā i pohā kōʻeleʻele, ʻikuwā ke kai, ʻikuwā ka hekili, ʻikuwā ka manu. ʻIkuwā is the month when dark storms arise, sea roars, thunder roars, birds roar.
Tons of fun with informational tabling staffed by faculty in full-on Halloween costumes, a Halloween Costume Contest for students, and a Food Fest celebrating the new outdoor dining area.
