75 UH Hilo student-athletes earn Division 2 Academic Achievement Award
This year’s total reflecting the 2025-26 academic school year was one shy of matching the Vulcans’ record high number of student-athletes set in 2024-25.
The Division 2 Athletics Directors Association has announced the recipients of the 2025-26 Academic Achievement Awards which include 75 University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo student-athletes for achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
“Our student-athletes continue to showcase an extraordinary commitment to excellence both in the classroom and in competition,” says UH Hilo Director of Athletics Patrick Guillen. “Balancing a full-time academic schedule with rigorous practice schedules, extensive travel demands and active engagement in our Big Island community is a remarkable achievement.”
UH Hilo’s 75 honorees are part of a national total of more than 21,000 student-athletes recognized from 179 institutions.

“This recognition highlights their discipline, resilience and dedication, as well as the unwavering support of our coaches, staff and faculty,” says Guillen. “We could not be prouder of these our student-athletes for representing UH Hilo with such distinction.”
