UH Hilo’s Performing Arts Center announces its fall 2026 “mini-season,” filled with a variety of entertaining events for patrons of all ages.

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo’s Performing Arts Center announces its fall 2026 “mini-season,” filled with a variety of entertaining events for patrons of all ages. (There will be no performances from Jan-Aug next year; the center will be closed for renovations.)

Tomáš Kubínek: Miracle Man. Oct. 8, 7:00 pm. Intended for adult audience. Comic genius, virtuoso vaudevillian, and all-round charmer who gives audiences an utterly joyous experience they’ll remember for a lifetime.

The Land Has Spoken: Tales of Indigenous Horror. Oct. 29, 7:00 pm. The Native American canon is rife with haunting stories, curses, omens, and portents; menacing monsters, treacherous shape-shifters, and cunning tricksters. The Land Has Spoken brings these stories to life with tales by Native award-winning dark fiction writers.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical by Dr. Seuss. Nov. 20, 21, 28, 2026, 7:00 pm, and Nov. 22, 28, 29, 2:00 pm. Featuring lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin, this particular production is home grown with Director Justina Mattos (Associate Professor of Drama), Musical Director Ocean Akaka (Assistant Professor of Music), and Choreographer Kea Kapahua (Instructor of Dance). Based on the iconic animated film and beloved children’s book by Dr. Seuss, the new songs are bound to have everyone tapping their feet.
