Hale Kuamoʻo Moʻohua “Word of the Week”: Huʻeaʻo
Once a week during the school year, a single ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi word is introduced along with its meaning and an example sentence of its usage. This week’s word is huʻeaʻo.
Each week during the school year, Hale Kuamoʻo, the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo’s Hawaiian Language Center, posts a new “Word of the Week” as part of a series of short videos called Moʻohua.
Once a week, a single ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) word is introduced along with its meaning and an example sentence of its usage.
This week’s word is huʻeaʻo.
Aloha everyone! “Huʻeaʻo” is this week’s word. Huʻeaʻo is a person who works for a business as a student to learn new skills, and to create new materials for the business. Here is huʻeaʻo in a sentence: “This semester I am an intern at Hale Kuamoʻo, and my responsibility is to seek Hawaiian knowledge through research.” That is all, mahalo!
