Hale Kuamo‘o Mo‘ohua “Word of the Week”: Kākoʻo

Once a week during the school year, a single ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi word is introduced along with its meaning and an example sentence of its usage. This week’s word is kākoʻo.

Each week during the school year, Hale Kuamoʻo, the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo’s Hawaiian Language Center, posts a new “Word of the Week” as part of a series of short videos called Moʻohua.

Once a week, a single ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) word is introduced along with its meaning and an example sentence of its usage.

This week’s word is kākoʻo.

Kākoʻo is the deed of someone assisting another in a task. Here is an example of “kākoʻo” in a sentence: “A single person is incapable of doing everything alone… it would be better if he were supported. Unite to move forward!” That is all, mahalo.
