Once a week during the school year, a single ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi word is introduced along with its meaning and an example sentence of its usage. This week’s word is haʻo.
Each week during the school year, Hale Kuamoʻo, the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo’s Hawaiian Language Center, posts a new “Word of the Week” as part of a series of short videos called Moʻohua.
Once a week, a single ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) word is introduced along with its meaning and an example sentence of its usage.
This week’s word is haʻo.
Here we are again to reawaken the Moʻohua project! “HAʻO” This week’s word is “haʻo.” Haʻo expresses that deep feeling of longing when you have not seen a person, place, or thing for a long time. Here is an example of haʻo in a sentence: “Friends,…did you miss Moʻohua?” That is all, see you again next Wednesday.
