“I’m incredibly proud of our talented staff, and the best thing is, they’re using the contest as a learning opportunity to make their work even better,” says Nancy Cook Lauer, a longtime local journalist now Ke Kalahea editorial advisor. “I can’t wait to see what the team produces for next year’s contest.”

CMA’s Pinnacle Awards honor the best college media organizations and individual work. The annual contest is open to student work produced for any college media organization, including print, broadcast and online outlets, during an academic year.

The recipients were honored at an awards ceremony at the Sheraton New Orleans during the 2024 Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association Fall National College Media Convention, held Oct. 29-Nov. 2.
