Five storytellers from UH Hilo and the wider community will share personal stories from their own lives related to the theme “Why Not?”

The Wailau storytelling series hosted by the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo will be offering its spring semester event this Friday, Jan. 12, at 4:00 p.m. on the Mookini Library lānai.

Five storytellers from UH Hilo and the wider community will share personal stories from their own lives related to the theme “Why Not?”

Student hosts Sophia Potter and Jordan Ancheta will share the stage with topic expert Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Keiki Kawaiʻaeʻa to welcome storytellers:

  • Kainoa Ariola-Sukisaki, Director of UH Hilo Advising Center
  • Mia McGrath, UH Hilo psychology major
  • GB Hajim, filmmaker
  • Kuʻuhiapo Jeong, UH Hilo alumnus, Legislative Assistant at Hawaiʻi County Council
  • Jacquelyn Pualani Johnson, UH Hilo Professor Emerita of Drama

Public is welcome, parking is free, and snacks will be provided.
