With the goal of promoting health, wellness, and fire safety, the day launches 2023 Fire Prevention Week. Sunday’s event is sponsored through a collaboration of UH Hilo Vulcan Athletics, local firefighters, police officers, Friends of First Responders, and members of the community.
The day will feature keiki runs, a family two-mile walk/run, and a timed race-style 5k/3.3 mile run event.
The event includes vehicle displays from the Hawai‘i Police Department, Hawai‘i Fire Department, military, and HELCO. First responders and local businesses will have information booths.
